Employer Seminar Series

The Missouri S&T Employer Seminar Series is a sequence of workshops and events that host professionals from industry to educate students on various career and professional development topics.

Traditional participation includes an employer representative conducting a presentation or workshop on a topic of your choice.  Typically, these seminars are held during the academic year on a day that corresponds with your other business at Missouri S&T - such as a day you are conducting on-campus interviews or attending an event at S&T. Career Opportunities and Employer Relations provides promotion and coordination of the seminar. Some employer organizations provide lunch, refreshments and/or promotional items.

Past seminar titles have included:

  • How to Write a Resume
  • Marketing Yourself
  • International Business
  • A Day in the Life of an Engineer
  • Telephone Interview Skills
  • The Importance of Networking After You Accept the Job
  • Business Ethics
  • Practice Interviewing with a (Company Name) Recruiter
  • Navigate Your Career Path
  • Things I Wish They’d Told Me when I was in Engr. School

Most seminars take place in Career Opportunities and Employer Relations located at 305 Norwood Hall, conveniently located next to the interview suites.  Student participation varies typically around 25-50 per seminar.

The Employer Seminar Series events are an excellent avenue for employers to provide a meaningful educational opportunity outside of the classroom for students. Interested parties should contact Career Opportunities and Employer Relations as soon as possible to confirm interest and to discuss details as planning and promotion is done a semester in advance. Seminar opportunities are provided in a first-come, first-serve basis. Feel free to contact the Career Opportunities and Employer Relations for additional information.
