The Career Opportunities Center (COC) is staffed with nine professionals ready to assist you with your job search whether you are interested in full-time, co-op, or summer employment. The COC provides assistance to you as a first semester freshman, all the way through college, and even as an alum!
Hundreds of employers recruit Missouri S&T students each year. When recruiting students, employers expect applicants to have three items:
A good GPA
Related work experience
Involvement in leadership activities
You will want to maintain focus on these three items throughout your academic years at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. Here is a Timeline for Success that will guide you through everything you should be doing year by year at Missouri S&T!
Employment Opportunities
On-campus Interviews
Hundreds of employers interview each semester for full-time, co-op and summer positions in our professional interview suites in Norwood Hall.
Career Fair
Two career fairs are held each year where students and alumni meet recruiters face-to-face to network and distribute resumes.
Resume Referrals
Thousands of resumes are forwarded each year to employers. The employers directly contact the students they are interested in for interviews or schedule through MinerJobs.
Resume Drop
Some employers do not plan to interview on-campus, however, they will post positions in MinerJobs and students have the option of submitting their resume. Employers will contact the students directly for interview consideration or schedule through MinerJobs.

Full-time
Available for seniors and graduate students.
Cooperative Education (co-op) An extended employment opportunity in industry related to your major. Click Here for more information about co-op.
Internship
A three month employment opportunity during the summer months.
Advising Services
Workshops
A variety of workshops are presented every semester to help prepare for employment. All workshops are held at the COC in 305 Norwood Hall.
Appointments
Schedule an appointment with an Advisor for one-on-one assistance in writing effective cover letters and resumes or evaluating a job offer.
Practice Interview Videotaped practice interviews are available with a COC Career Advisor to improve your interviewing skills. Practice Interview Guidelines
Etiquette Dinner
A special 5 course dinner to teach you sensible strategies on dining and business etiquette is available for all students (freshman through graduate). Reservations are required, but limited based upon space available. There is a $10 reservation fee to attend the etiquette dinner. Make your reservation!
