For Students and Alumni

Career Fair: Career Opportunities & Employer Relations (COER) facilitates one of the largest career fairs in the Midwest each semester.

Handshake: Job search database and software is integral to students finding employment, establishing networking opportunities, etc.  Last year COER facilitated approximately 1,730 job postings specific for S&T students and provided access to over 100,000 general job postings.

On-campus Interviews: COER facilitates approximately 4,000 on campus interviews a year.

Advising: COER provides many professional development services to Missouri S&T students and alumni. Students and alumni may schedule appointment with a Career Advisor for a resume review, cover letter review, recorded practice interview, or an individual advising session.  Students receive assistance in areas that may include: understanding job offers, comparing offers, negotiating, preparing for plant trips, or writing a statement of purpose for graduate school applications.

LinkedIn: COER offers a full, in-depth review of your LinkedIn page. 

Professional Seminars: COER organizes approximately thirty career related seminars each semester.  In addition COER facilitates approximately 100 special presentations by request each semester.

Employer Events (Other than Career Fair): COER facilitates several employer events each semester.  You can see examples on our Calendar of Events.  These events are excellent opportunities for students to meet and network with recruiters from some of our top hiring companies. 

Career Closet: COER offers a FREE Career Closet providing professional attire for students and alumni.

Professional Events (Other than Seminars): Each semester COER organizes professional development events such as the Suit Up event. Suit Up is Sponsored by Corporate JC Penny providing all Missouri S&T students forty percent off of professional dress at the JC Penny Rolla location.

Information Session / Presentation Request: Information Sessions offer employers a chance to introduce their company brand and career opportunities to students on campus while providing students the perfect networking opportunity.  Employers who wish to request an information session should email Sara Earl, earls@mst.edu or Julie Mayfield, mayfieldju@mst.edu.

Online Resume Referrals: COER will compile resume packets upon request of employers and will include your Handshake resume.
