Edna Grover-Bisker

Director of COER

View Biography

Dr. Grover-Bisker obtained her B.S. in Communications from Central Missouri University in 1995, a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Missouri in 1999, and a Doctorate of Education Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2011. She received consultant certification from the Protocol School of Washington in 2008. Dr. Grover-Bisker's teaching and research interests include the following: Communication, Public Administration, Professionalism and Protocol, Employment, Leadership, Policy Analysis, Education Outcomes, Accreditation, and Assessment and Evaluation.  She has held a combination of positions from radio DJ to Missouri Senate Communications Specialist, MoDOT Community Relations Manager, university professor, International Business Protocol Consultant, and Assessment and Evaluation Consultant. During her tenure in COER, the office has been ranked in the top 20 Career Center’s in the nation by The Princeton Review for 3 consecutive years (2010 – 2012), and rated as having some of the highest salaries in the nation by Payscale, Inc. (2010-2014).

Julie Pittser

Associate Director of COER

Julie Pittser has a B.S. degree in Communication from Truman State University.  She has over twenty years of experience in higher education including  career services, financial assistance and student services.  A transplant from Iowa, Julie joined the Career Opportunities & Employer Relations (COER) department in October 2011.  Her primary responsibility is the employer relations portion of the department, which includes employer outreach and site visits, career fair and employer event planning, and assessment and alumni relations.  She advises students and conducts seminars on resume writing, interviewing and other professional development topics.  Julie is fortunate to work with an amazing team of professionals in a nationally ranked career center that continues to strive to be the BEST EVER.

Hilary Beam

Administrative Assistant

Hilary Beam has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and she joined COER in the fall of 2010.  She works primarily with the financial aspects of the department, including payroll and travel arrangements, and provides assistance regarding the director’s schedule and preparing for meetings.  She coordinates the graduating students’ career outcomes reports and compiles data for the yearly starting salary statistics.  She interacts with faculty, staff, employers, and other constituents regarding data requests and COER statistics. She enjoys the interaction with the students, faculty, and staff of Missouri S&T.

Gail Best


View Biography

Gail Best joined COER in August 2011 with 35 years of experience in co-owning a business and specializing in customer service. She assists students with correspondence, registration in Minerjobs and scheduling appointments with career advisors for resume reviews, practice interviews and career advising. Gail loves interacting with students and employers and thinks it’s the best part of her job.

Sara Earl

After completing her B.S. in Animal Sciences from Missouri State, and working in diverse industries – from insurance to agriculture – Sara found COER as her home base in 2006. Sara loves working with students and staff, but her favorite part of her job is forming friendships with employers over the years. Her primary roles are acting as administrator for MinerJobs, scheduling on-site interviews, responding to the diverse needs of employers, coordinating the Career Fair, and reporting employer recruit annually and end-of-semester. Sara is a 19th century history buff who loves to be outside doing yard work and landscaping. She is also an avid fan of AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Julie Mayfield

If your company starts with N-Z, your recruiting assistant is Julie Mayfield. Julie started at S&T in 2012 and found COER to be a perfect fit. Her passion is helping people, and she enjoyed interfacing with the team, students and employers. Julie’s primary roles are helping employers post positions on MinerJobs, scheduling interviews and part time jobs for students, and organizing our Career Fair. When Julie is not busy working towards her human services degree, you can find her enjoying the outdoors with her husband Tim, son Holden, and their newest addition: a shelter Chihuahua mix named Quinn.

Lauren Hatfield

Lauren Hatfield obtained her Bachelor of Art in Communications from Central Methodist University in May of 2012, and graduated with her Master of Science in Performance Improvement from Grantham University in 2014.  Previous to joining the COER team in June of 2016, Lauren worked within higher education in the field of Student Advising.

Miranda Ham

Miranda graduated from Missouri State University in May 2016 with a B.S. in Technical Writing and a minor in General Business. She joined the COER team as a Student Service Coordinator in August 2016. Her primary responsibilities include reviewing resumes, conducting practice interviews, advising students, and operating the suit closet and InterviewStream. She loves working with students who are beginning to pave their way into the professional world.

Anthony Krueger

Programmer Analyst

View Biography

Anthony obtained his B.S. in Information Science & Technology at Missouri S&T in 2013. His well-rounded work experience is a combination of Entrepreneurship, Networking & Communications, IT Helpdesk and Business Analysis. During and following his undergraduate degree, he worked at St. James Winery for 4 years, lastly as a Sales Planning Manager (Business Analyst). Anthony joined the COER team in Fall 2015. 

Sammatha Wilcox

Experiential Learning Specialist

View Biography

Sammatha Wilcox joined the Career Opportunities & Employer Relations team in April, 2014. One of her goals is to facilitate relationships between student organizations and employers. Before joining COER, Sammatha worked in the Residential Life department on the Missouri S&T campus.  The area of focus was on family housing options.  Sammatha has a Bachelor of Science in Human Services.
